Congratulation! Uzbek American Association of Chicago (UAAC) was officially registered with the US Government in January, 2009. UAAC is a non-profit organization.
Despite the past four decades, when I had been looking for Uzbeks or Uzbek-speaking individuals in the Chicago area, we have made a significant progress in the last two years alone by gathering a large number of Uzbeks and organizing this important association – UAAC.
The monthly picnic gatherings in the past two years made a major impact in our continued and routine contact, and helped develop the concept of UAAC. Immeasurable amount of happiness, community support and fun has been achieved from these activities for the entire community. Today, the dream of Uzbek association has come
The purpose and goals of the Uzbek American Association of Chicago are:
To help our community members during hardships, economically and morally;
To help keep our language strong among our community;
To keep our culture and traditions alive;
To keep our religion healthy;
To teach our children remember their origin and ethnicity, whether they are minors or adults;
To help our newly-arriving Uzbeks acclimate to the new life in the USA.
